For the time being we are no longer recruiting. The guild is inactive at this time as most of us have become frustrated with the game and are no longer playing. We do intend to keep an eye on new changes and the state of things and possibly return in the future, but for now we are not playing WAR.

This will be the first of many weekly updates on our guild's progress. I will be trying to put one up every Friday from now on but they may be a day or two early or late depending on when I get a chance to do it.

Guild Rank Update: Rank 17

This week was an exciting week for us with several major events taking place.

The first milestone we reached was leading our first keep raid and claiming a T4 keep for the guild. We captured all the battlefield objectives and both keeps in Kadrin Valley and claimed Kazad Dammaz for the guild.

Our second major news this week was opening our vent server up to the Destruction population of Wolfenburg. The idea is to provide a place for everyone to get organized and hang out and have fun as a community, strengthening our realm and having a great time in the process. The server information is posted in our forums as well as a section to give us feedback about it.

Thirdly and finally, we entered into an alliance with Malevolent, Pheonix Group and Tzeentch Hates Standoffs this week. It will be a great thing for all of our guilds to get to work together.

The guild is still accepting applications for all classes.

We have opened up our vent server to the general destruction population of Wolfenburg. Please feel free to use it for any and all of your vent needs. Pugs, PQs, Scenarios, Open RvR, or just to chat. We're happy to be able to provide the server with a place to hang out and get better organized.

We only ask that you keep it under control, nobody wants to hear screaming, bickering, tons of annoying binds or anything else along those lines. If need be, we will kick and/or ban players who can't control themselves on the server. Also, any Order players we catch will be insta-banned.

Tonight the guild led a raid and, with the help of a handful of others, captured all the objectives and keeps across three tier 4 zones. We even claimed our first keep at Kazad Dammaz. A job very well done by all, an extremely fun evening and the first of many more to come.

While everyone has been out there pounding away at the desert sands of the Land of the Dead, we've been hard at work pounding away at these Hot Fixes:

Land of the Dead

General Changes & Bug Fixes
  • Ambient Dust Devils can no longer be damaged by area-of-effect spells.
  • Lair Glyph objects can no longer be damaged with area-of-effect spells.
  • Test monsters have been removed from the Necropolis.
  • Fixed an issue that prevented players from using the effects from their pocket items.
  • Players will no longer be branded cowards after successfully purging a Land of the Dead instance.
  • Players will now correctly receive a loot chest after successfully defending a Land of the Dead instance from invasion.
Quests
  • Four Tombs for Four Pillars: Raven’s Wing will now spawn properly in the waypoint location for the associated steps of this quest chain.
  • The Keys of Zandri: Aloysius Roemer will now spawn properly in the waypoint location for the associated steps of this quest chain.
Public Quests
  • Ricci's Raiders: The bandit groups required to begin this Public Quest will now respawn correctly and consistently.
Lairs
  • Lair Boss Loot Drops: Fixed an issue causing Lair bosses to drop Silver Ankhs as loot, in addition to awarding a Silver Ankh directly to each player. Lair bosses will no longer drop these additional Silver Ankhs.
  • The Tomb of the Moon: Fixed an issue with the Bride Aura’s. This fix will ensure that all players can see now the visual effect for this ability.
  • The Temple of the Sun: Saa Khasef will not cast Disruptive Force on players who are standing in the Mists of Eternity.
The Tomb of the Vulture Lord
  • Hall of Awakening: Corrected an issue with this encounter in which the High Priest Herakh would not reset correctly when the party wiped.
  • Hall of Awakening: Corrected an issue with this encounter in which the Immortal Champions “Guard” ability was not being removed correctly from the High Priest Herakh in some situations, causing him to take too little damage and become more difficult to kill than intended.
  • Sepulcher of Swords: High Priest Herakh can now be properly targeted
    and attacked after teleporting, allowing players more time to damage
    him before he becomes enraged.
Items
  • Fractured Crystals: These talismans will now place the correct effect on the items they are slotted into.
  • Tyrant Armor: Fixed an issue with the broken items that are repaired into Tyrant armor set pieces. As a result of this fix, players will no longer loot a broken Tyrant armor set item that they cannot use. Players whom have been affected by this issue may submit an in-game appeal using the “Missing Item” catagory to have the item replaced with the correct repairable Tyrant armor piece for their Career.
RvR
  • Expedition Resources may now be obtained from Tier 4 RvR guards.
  • Tier 4 High Elf and Dark Elf zones will now properly contribute resources to the Land of the Dead expedition.

WAAAGH!!!

The hot days of summer are settling in and the 4th of July is quickly approaching here in the states. While we know not everyone celebrates Independence Day I think we can all agree it's a good enough reason to celebrate in game with bonus XP, Renown, and some festive fireworks to boot!

From today until Monday, July 7th you'll earn 10% more XP and Renown for kills and enemy players will drop fireworks for your amusement.

It's our way of saying thanks, have fun, and enjoy the start of summer with a BANG!

Land of the Dead

General Changes & Bug Fixes
  • Fixed an issue that was preventing lair bosses in the Land of the Dead from dropping pocket items as rewards.
Quests
  • Tomb Kings Repeatable Quests will now award Golden Scarabs, while the Warcamp Invasion quests will award Silver Ankhs.
  • The following reward adjustments have been made to the Land of the Dead epic quest lines for the Realm of Destruction:
    • The “Keys of Zandri” quest line will now award a Silver Scarab for each step completed up to the final step, which awards a Golden Scarab.
    • The “The Key to the Casket” quest line will now award a Golden Scarab for each step completed up to the final step, which awards a Silver Ankh.
    • The “No Comin’ Back” quest line will now award a Golden Cartouche for each step completed up to the final step, which awards a Sacred Funerary Mask.
  • The following reward adjustments have been made to the Land of the Dead epic quest lines for the Realm of Order:
    • The “Four Tombs for Four Pillars” quest line will now award a Silver Scarab for each step completed up to the final step, which awards a Golden Scarab.
    • The “The Second Order of Business” quest line will now award a Golden Scarab for each step completed up to the final step, which awards a Silver Ankh.
    • The “The Dark Heart of Zandri” quest line will now award a Golden Cartouche for each step completed up to the final step, which awards a Sacred Funerary Mask.
Public Quests
  • Aerie of Death: Fixed an issue that was preventing Carrion from spawning in the second stage of the Public Quest, making it impossible to complete.
  • Ansu's Charge: Fixed an issue that caused Ansu to use his "Skull of the Foe" ability on player healing abilities, making the Public Quest more difficulty to complete than originally intended.
  • Assault of Nekh Akhet: Fixed a bug that was causing Nekh Akhet to use his "Skull of the Foe" ability on player healing abilities, making the Public Quest more difficulty to complete than originally intended.
  • Carrion Nest: Fixed an issue that was preventing Carrion from spawning in the second stage of the Public Quest, making it impossible to complete.
  • Sepulchre of Dominion: Hierophant Eutra’ta will now correctly show up as a Lich, instead of a mummy.
  • Temple of Ualapt: Fixed an issue that would in some cases prevent all of the Architects from spawning in the first stage, making this Public Quest impossible to complete.
Lairs
  • The Tomb of the Moon: The door leading to Saa Khasef in the Tomb of the Moon will now open properly after a failed attempt.
  • The Tomb of the Moon: Bride Tamari’s “Tamari’s Scorn” ability will now function as intended, weakening Hapu Shebikef so that he can be harmed more easily.
  • The Tomb of the Moon: Fixed an issue causing Hapu Shebikef to have too much health, making him more difficult to kill than originally intended.
  • The Tomb of the Moon: This lair will now correctly issue a timestamp.
  • The Tomb of Stars: This lair will now correctly issue a timestamp.
Combat & Careers

Rune Priest
  • Immolating Grasp: This Tactic will no longer affect the duration of the lingering heal from Rune of Mending.
Content

General Changes & Bug Fixes
  • Ravaging Tuskgors will no longer drop Expedition Resources.
Items
  • Corrected an issue that was causing certain player-dropped items to be significantly rarer than intended.

It is a time of change and progress here at Mythic. As we move forward,
I want you all to know that our love of MMOs, our passion for the
games we create, and our commitment to our fans is stronger than ever. Our
studio’s strength has always come from its talented and dedicated team;
Mythic is full of passionate, committed people who love MMOs and the
games they make. I, personally, have been with Mythic for almost 10
years and look forward to what the studio will build and offer fans
over the next 10 years!



We are committed to Warhammer, Ultima Online, and Dark Age of Camelot,
and have solid plans for each game. I look forward to discussing our
plans for of all of these games with you in the near future. This
month, as promised, I’d like to start by sharing some more details from
our plans for Warhammer’s continued development over the upcoming
months.

Over the past few weeks, we've reached out to many individuals and
guilds to share their thoughts, and we’ve been digging down into all of
the feedback we have received. As I stated last week, these discussions
led us to five key goals which will act as our compass in the months
ahead. Our five key goals for Warhammer are:

  1. Addressing concerns related to crowd control and area-of-effect abilities.
  2. Continuing to improve client and server stability and performance.
  3. Strengthening and improving the Tier 4 experience.
  4. Improving server population distribution, both in terms of overall population and Realm balance.
  5. Improving itemization and the overall distribution of “carrots” (fun rewards) throughout the game.

We're
still working out the specifics, and as always the details are subject
to change, but we'll share several examples of what we're planning and
will continue to do so as more details for upcoming features come
together in the coming weeks. There's a lot to cover, so let's get
started!

The WAR has moved to the deadly sands of Neheraka and the Necropolis of Zandri. The brief respite provided to the victors of the Rise of the Tomb Kings Live Event has broken and their enemies have been unleashed upon the arid landscape!

With today's server opening, the Realms of Destruction and Order can now turn in their Expedition Resources to the Expedition Quartermasters found in the warcamps and the capital cities. Today also marks the first example of the Realm Resource Handicap system in action. Realms that previously were locked out of the Land of the Dead will find that, due to time without access, their ability to gather resources is much accelerated. Please note that this acceleration will only occur when one Realm has not gained access to the Land of the Dead for an extended period of time.

Today we have important news to share with the community. EA is restructuring its RPG and MMO games development into a new group that includes both Mythic and BioWare. This newly formed team will be led by Ray Muzyka, co-founder and General Manager of BioWare. With this change, Ray becomes Group General Manager of the new  RPG/MMO studio group. BioWare’s other co-founder, Greg Zeschuk will become Group Creative Officer for the new RPG/MMO studio group. Rob Denton will step up as General Manager of Mythic and report to Ray. BioWare’s studios remain unchanged and continue to report to Ray.

Mark Jacobs, co-founder and current General Manager of Mythic, will leave EA on June 23, 2009. We thank Mark for his contributions at Mythic and wish him the very best going forward. Mark played a major part in the success of Mythic with his contribution as General Manager and Lead Designer of WAR.

Mythic retains a strong team led by Rob who co-founded Mythic in 1995. Rob played a critical role in the development of Dark Age of Camelot. In his previous role as COO, he was responsible for all day-to-day management of the studio including all development, operations and support.
